Restaurant Review: Paseo Grill

Last Friday night, my husband, Andrew, & I made reservations to go out to dinner at the Paseo Grill in the Paseo District in N.W. OKC.  We have been talking about going there for a long time (& made one attempt to try to get reservations for Valentine's Day, but the earliest we could eat was at 9:30 p.m.).  Andrew & I love to go out on a nice dinner date for random occasions, so we figured last Friday was as good as any night to try it out!

Our reservation was at 7:15 p.m. & we were a little late due to Andrew not taking the interstate, & then parking.  So tip #1, get there early enough to find a place to park.  The Paseo District is pretty hoppin' on a Friday night in the big town.  When we finally got inside the restaurant, we ended up waiting about 5 minutes for our table to be ready.  The hostess then showed us to our table & I immediately saw a pair of blue cheetah-print reading glasses & assumed that the person who was sitting at our table before us left them there.  When our waitress came over to ask what we would like to drink & tell us the specials, I told her about the glasses.  Apparently I should have known that they were left there by the restaurant for people that need them (?).  My bad.

After my little mishap (& then the waitress automatically liking Andrew better than me because he didn't ask such a silly question), we ordered our meals & chatted for probably 15 minutes until our food came.  I've been all about filets lately & mine was absolutely delicious.. Andrew decided to get the Chicken Saltimbocca which was really great too.  Once we finished up the dinner portion, they brought us out a complimentary dessert which had strawberries, blueberries, & blackberries in it & whipped cream on top.  For anyone who knows me, they know I'm not the biggest fan of any kind of fruit.  At all.  Whatsoever.  (It also looks & smells so good, but the texture of fruit is weird.  I'd much rather eat vegetables any day.)  I was brave though & tried some of the strawberries & ate almost all of the whipped cream [of course].

Once we finished our complementary dessert, we paid our check & went straight to our car (we were a little afraid it could have gotten towed.. haha whoops-- no worries though! It wasn't!).  We had a fabulous experience at the Paseo Grill & I'd recommend it to anyone who is a local & hasn't been yet, or is in the city visiting.  It was probably one of our favorite fanciest meals we've had in OKC so far.

Paseo Grill.. We give you a A+.  Thanks for the fun time.

^On another note, this picture of Andrew & I was taken by an idea that came from one of my new favorite blogs to follow Enjoy It Blog.  (Maybe an idea for another blog post to explain her fabulous idea!) :)
