You Know You Live in Oklahoma When...

Yesterday, my hometown was hit by the first tornado(s) of the season.  Ever since the last big tornado in 2013, they have began to affect me differently than they used to.  Yesterday's tornado was a little too close for comfort.  It started right down the street from our neighborhood & formed right above our house.  We had very little damage with just some of our fence down & neighbors' stuff in our yard (thank you, Lord).  But, that's what you get when you live in "Tornado Alley", right?!

With that being said, here's some of the things you might be familiar with when you live in Oklahoma...

You can experience every form of weather in a matter of days.

The sound of Gary England's voice soothes you.

You know the names of all the Ogle's & which news station they work for (& which one is your favorite).

Mike Morgan is always wearing a weird tie during severe weather.

You know exactly who "Val" & "Hank" are even though you rarely see their faces.

^"Talk to me Val!"
or "Where's Hank's footage?!"

May 3rd & May 20th (& a bunch of others) are days you'll always remember every single, tiny detail about.

You find yourself telling other people who just move here & complain about the inconsistent weather, "Welcome to Oklahoma."

You know that no matter what though, Oklahomans always work together after EVERY storm.

I love my state & am so thankful for the many people who are willing to help each other out after severe weather happens.  Also, I'm EXTREMELY thankful for God's protection over us yesterday.  We shouldn't ever take that for granted.

It's only March, folks.  Hopefully we won't get more severe weather this season (wishful thinking).
