What I've Learned in my Four Months of Blogging

I've only been blogging 4 months. That's it. It feels like it's been longer than that. Does it feel like that to you all? Hopefully I'm not boring you... I've learned so much in the short amount of time I've been doing this. Blogging has easily become a hobby & an outlet for me. It gives me something to stay busy with... It also gives me somewhat of a deadline (I love meeting deadlines-- is that weird?).

Blogging keeps me organized & focused on something. Basically, blogging is a job. Not that I get paid, but I'd be willing to take anyone up on that offer if they want to pay me!

So here's some things I've learned about blogging in the short 4 months I've been doing this thing.

1. Be consistent.
I did a lot of research before starting a blog (weird I know). The main thing people stressed was to be consistent. If you're going to be a blogger, blog at least a few times a week. For the most part, I feel like I've done pretty good with that. By being consistent, you keep your faithful readers interested & they anticipate your next post.

2. Blog what you know.
If you don't really know about something, don't blog about it. When you know & are interested in a topic, it's more intriguing to readers.

3. Place at least one picture with every post.
People seem to be more interested in what you have to say when a picture is involved. All I have to say about that is I guess that we live in a visual world!

4. Use social media to your advantage.
Social media is annoying a lot of the time, but when you're a blogger, you have to be involved in it. It's an easy way to get your blog out there.

5. You're not going to be a famous blogger right off the bat.
I'm preachin' to myself here on this one. I unfortunately have this mindset that I'm going to become famous overnight... But it doesn't work that way. Blogging is a lot of work. You have to stick with it & be hopeful that one day you might just be famous :).

6. Interact with other bloggers.
Getting into the "blogging world" is hard. Once you're in it though, that's when you become "famous" more or less. You have to interact with other bloggers. One way to interact with them is stated in my next point...

7. Link up & get involved!
Join in on a link up or blog challenge to interact with other bloggers. For example, I have done link ups with Helene in Between & am currently doing her latest Instagram challenge (which I did in April as well). I've met so many other bloggers by participating in things like that.

Blogging is so much fun, but it's a lot of hard work. I've learned that you have to stay up with it & interact with other people. Four months is only the beginning, folks! Keep up with me on social media to find out what's new!

Do you have any more blogging advice for me? I'd love to hear from you!
