Truth in the Busy Season

It's been too long since I last wrote. At this moment of my life, I feel very busy. I'm not going to lie, I enjoy having things on my to-do list. I like having deadlines & a task I need to get done, but lately I have just felt overwhelmingly busy. Maybe it was the stomach bug sickness we all 3 had last weekend that I feel like set me back a few days more than I wanted. But I also think I'm in a season of learning patience & trusting God during this busy time.

So if you're in a busy season too, take heart. You don't have to do it all-- because guess what, you can't. We live in a world that's sinful. In fact, we're sinful. We're not perfect. We're flawed. But there's One who can do it all, who did it all on the cross. He's perfect. He's not flawed. And when we put our hope in Him & not ourselves, we can find rest.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

There is so much comfort in knowing Christ-- trusting Him for His perfect timing (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Trusting Him that He is the one who is before all things, & in Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17). Trusting Him that He is good (Psalm 100:5). Trusting Him that in our weaknesses & insufficiencies, that's when Christ's power shines through (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Trusting Him that our hope cannot be found in this world, but in the One who created it (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

So friend, find rest in Christ. Give your life to honor, glorify & serve Him. In the busy season or not, He is our hope. And remember, in everything you do, do it all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)!
